Epilogue

Jasmine

5 Years later..

I gaspwhen I walk out of our master bathroom and see that the bedroom looks like a flower shop. Rose petals cover every inch of the room. I don’t think he could have gotten this many roses from our greenhouse out back. My husband stands in the center of the room, a soft smile on his lips.
“You know what today is?” he asks, moving toward me, closing the distance between us. “Five years ago today was the first time I laid eyes on you. You walked right past my office window and changed my life.” He leans in and takes a tender kiss from my lips. He delves one hand into my hair and places the other on my very round belly. I’m carrying our second child, a little girl this time.
“One thousand eight hundred and twenty-five roses, one for each day since that day.” A tear escapes, but Ash kisses it and stops it in its path. I never knew life could be this good. Could be so perfect. That fairy tales were real. But they are. Here I stand in my bedroom with a man who would do anything to make me smile, a man who would do anything for his family.
He took me away from a life I hated and brought me to a new home to give me my dreams. He healed me and made all the fear I’d been living with disappear.
“You’re too perfect, you know that?”
“I don’t know about that, but I know no matter how hard I try I’ll never catch up to your perfection.” He places another kiss on my lips before pulling me toward the bed and laying me down.
He stares down at me, devouring me with his eyes. Slowly he pushes up the T-shirt of his I’m wearing to reveal my belly. He presses kisses to the round bump, leaving no spot untouched. He then pushes my shirt up farther to reveal my breasts.
“I can’t wait for your milk to come back,” he rasps, taking my sensitive nipple into his mouth and making me moan.
“Ash, please,” I beg, needing more, needing him inside me.
“I just got Jack to bed, sweetheart. We have all night.” He moves to the other breast, kissing and licking. “But you know I can’t say no to you, so I’ll make your first one fast, then I get to make the rest slow. I want to take my time loving your body, loving you.”
And he does, until I finally drift off to sleep.
