Masters of Medieval Romance: Series Starters Volume II Page 159

by Kathryn Le Veque

“I can see he will never be out of his father’s sight,” he commented as he reached the door.

Dennis grunted. “Never, indeed,” he said firmly. “Although I suppose one day he must go and foster. Perhaps I will send him to the Earl of Cornwall.”

“Indeed you shall.”

Richard opened the door to leave, but Dennis’ voice stopped him. “My wife has mentioned something to me, Richard, something I’d not considered until this very moment.”

The earl did not mind that Dennis had called him by his first name. In private, he had given him permission to do so. “What is that, Dennis?”

Dennis looked up from the babe, fixing the earl in the eye. There was something in his expression that radiated sincerity and depth, as if all was right in the world. “She says that Marcus has your eyes.”

The earl’s heart leapt into his throat, looking to Ryan for confirmation he hardly dared to hope. Ryan, her beautiful face as serene and angelic as her mother’s had once been, nodded her head at him as if to convey the knowledge he had so desperately sought.

She knew, ultimately, that that was why the earl was here; he wanted to know the truth and was hoping he would not have to wait until he died to know it. With the trusting relationship established between Launceston and St. Austell over the past eight months, it was the very least she could do for the man who had given her life.

The earl had his answer.

Note: All Kathryn’s novels are designed to be read as stand-alones, although many have cross-over characters or cross-over family groups. Novels that are grouped together have related characters or family groups. You will notice that some series have the same books; that is because they are cross-overs. A hero in one book may be the secondary character in another.

There is NO reading order except by chronology, but even in that case, you can still read the books as stand-alones. No novel is connected to another by a cliff hanger, and every book has an HEA.

Series are clearly marked. All series contain the same characters or family groups except the American Heroes Series, which is an anthology with unrelated characters.
