Chapter 6
The next morning…
Erika woke up
with a start. Where was she? Where was Asher? “Calm down,” a man’s
voice said, soothingly. It took a moment for the previous night’s
events to come back to her. She flopped back down with a sigh. “Are
you okay?” Alexander asked. She turned to face him, only to come
face to face with a heap of blankets. She sat up. No, it wasn’t a
heap of blankets. It was a bowl with little Asher in the center.
She smiled then looked at Alexander on the other side, “Yes. I just
forgot where I was.” He nodded, “I understand.” “Did you make
this?” she asked, motioning to the bowl. He nodded, “Do you like
it?” She grinned, “Creative. Hopefully, by tonight, he’ll be able
to sleep in his own, new crib.” He eyed her with an arched eyebrow
until she realized what she’d implied- that she would be staying
here another night. “I didn’t mean-” “Relax. I’d love to have you
and Asher here for as long as I can.” “Really?” He nodded, “No use
denying that we’re attracted to one another.” She bit her lip,
knowing she was more than just attracted. “Come here,” he said. She
gingerly climbed over the blanket bowl and he pulled her on top of
her. She closed the distance between them and they continued that
kiss where they’d left off last night. By the time she pulled back,
they were both panting, gasping for air. “Wow,” she said. “That’s
what you said when we did it in the alley,” he said. She chuckled,
“I’m at a loss for words.” “Same.” They both heard Asher stir, and
they shifted into parental mode and out of lover mode.
Erika fed
Asher as Alexander showered and dressed. By the time he was done,
Asher was satisfied so Erika went and showered. She hadn’t brought
a change of clothes so Alexander lent her one of his T-shirts. He
grew hard thinking about her in the shower with water running over
her toned body, then prancing around his penthouse in nothing but
his T-shirt. She wouldn’t be wearing underwear for a while because
he’d put it in the washing machine, along with her clothes. He
carried Asher to the living room and settled him in his crib with a
few toys, then he went to the kitchen to scrape together some
breakfast.
The rest of
the day progressed a lot like the previous. They built the rest of
the furniture and organized it in Asher’s room. Then they had
dinner and watched a movie until she fell asleep. He tucked her
into bed and Asher slept in his crib. Alexander was especially
happy about that because he got to spoon Erika that night. She
stirred when he did that and he was afraid he might have crossed a
line. “Alexander?” she mumbled. “Yeah, it’s me baby,” he said. She
turned toward him and puckered up. He gave her a quick kiss because
he knew how tired she was, then she snuggled deeper into his arms
and went back to sleep. He heard her barely whisper “I love you”.
“Love you too,” he whispered back, then went to sleep.
