This is actually my favorite Kindred book so far. I just discovered this series recently and have been reading them voraciously! I didn't know I liked this type of book until the Twin Kindred books, but this book took it another 10 steps deeper and I for one, loved it.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going in to this one. I knew I’d have no issues with anything of a sexual nature, but I was unsure of the dynamics of two different breeds of Kindred with the same mate, or how the Kindred would be with each other. There hasn’t been any gay Kindred, yet, so I had nothing to go by. It was awesome. I loved just about everything in this story.

My only issue was the continuous use of “friend of the heart”. In every other reference like that it has been best friends...

So that got a bit confusing when things went beyond just friendly between the Kindred yet they still used that term for each other, up until right before the very end.

Everything else about this story was absolute perfection!

Fantastic book. One of the best in the series in awhile. So excited to see some branching out from the pattern of typical sexual orientation that most of the books had. With that in mind though... this book is NOT just 2 guys loving the same girl without touching each other, like the twin Kindred do (but without sharing a body part). In this book there is male/male touching, kissing, etc. I loved it! I actually wish there had been more of it! I think it needed a bit more to really cement the ...

In this book there is male/male touching, kissing, etc. I loved it! I actually wish there had been more of it! I think it needed a bit more to really cement the relationship between the 2 guys, but there was just enough to satisfy if you like M/M/F instead of M/F/M. Anyway, I think it had some nice coming to terms with orientation angst, but I feel like the other kindred on the mothership, etc. were not quite as shocked as they should have been after like 30 books, many of which, where the author specifically covers that the Kindred are not bisexual. I loved this story though, and I really REALLY hope there are more like it.

Even though Ms. Anderson has again created a heroine who is bashful and sexually repressed, the sweet and wonderful love story was fabulous! She dealt with how difficult it would be for lovers to deal with societal bigotry but also the more painful rejection of bigoted parents. This was a really deep novel as well as a sexy, fun adventure. Way to write the best book you’ve written yet, Ms. Anderson. I’ve read many and this one is top notch.
