Lavender Morning

A heartwarming romance about a woman who finds true love in a small town, from New York Times bestselling author, Jude Deveraux.

Jocelyn Minton is a woman torn between two worlds. Her mother grew up attending private schools and afternoon teas, but she married the local handyman. After her mother died when Joce was only five years old, her father remarried into his own class, and Joce became an outsider—until she met Edilean Harcourt. Although she was sixty years Joce's senior, Miss Edi was a kindred soul who understood her like no one else ever had.

When Miss Edi passes away, she leaves Joce all her worldly possessions, including an eighteenth-century house and a letter with clues to a mystery that began in 1941. In the letter, Miss Edi also mentions that she has found the perfect man for Joce—a handsome young lawyer. Joce is shocked to learn that the mystery, the house, and the future love of her life are all in Edilean, a small town in Virginia that Miss Edi never told her about. Hurt that the woman who meant so much to her kept so many secrets, Jocelyn moves to this tight-knit village in an attempt to understand the legacy that has been left to her. As she begins to dig into Miss Edi's mystery, she soon discovers some shocking surprises about her family's history and her own future—and she meets a man with his own mysterious past.

Jude Deveroux has been my favorite author for twenty years!! Her stories never disappoint, and are always full of love, mystery, and really human, relatable scenarios.
This book was fabulous, and keeps the reader guessing clear to the end. I’m grateful that Deveroux never stoops to foul language, or sex scenes with the hope that more ppl would buy her books!!
Thank you Ms Deveroux for staying so true to your stories and your authentic writing that is awesome!!

I don't normally like "Romances" but I love Jude Deveraux's and always have, not because they are literature, but because they are fun.
She shows a very clever sense of humor that takes them out of the realm of "ordinary". They are always a good story and always a pleasure to read. I don't read them for education; I read them for just plain fun and enjoy every minute of them. I also like that they are usually a series of interconnected books, so you can continue to enjoy the characters in fu...

Wow again, what a very good story. It was very unpredictable. That's one of the things I love most about this story. I'm looking forward to Ramsey's story.

This is the third...or maybe the fourth...time that I have read this book since it was first printed. I always enjoy going back to Edilean, Virginia. I don't know how it is possible to miss a town where I've never been and actually doesn't even exist, but I do.

Jocelyn Minton was totally unlike her father and his new wife and daughters. They liked motorcycles, Nascar, and being rowdy. She was quiet and bookish. She was also lonely until she met an elderly lady, Miss Edilean Harcourt. Miss ...
