I loved, loved this book. I have been waiting for Thane's book ever since he was introduced in Wicked Nights, Zacharel's story. It is Hot, thrilling, mesmerizing, romantic smexy, at times heart wrenching, laugh out loud funny, could not put down. One of Genashowalter's best books ever.

The story starts out hot from the beginning where we find Thane under the spell of a Phonenix, Kendra who holds him hostage in their camp as a sex slave. He is hypnotic from the get go, a too hot to handle , bring me some ice, golden angel marching around the Phoenix camp unable to remember who he is other his sexual addiction to Kendra.
Elin is also a slave , half human, half Phoenix. Courageous and resourceful, Elin risks her own safety to free Thane from his spell and in so doing he helps her gain her freedom. Thane offers Elin his brand of "safety " on his home working at his nightclub.
Thane surprisingly finds himself drawn to and protective of this slave woman who has saved him. Elin believes she is so not anything Thane would ever want and she should not be attracted to him but as her friends at the club say, they all had "lady boners" for Thane.
Since Thane has now declared all Phoenix his enemies, Elin must keep her halfling status very secret. I love the fact that in this story the heroine is not the usual virgin and that she has actually had a loving marriage to a man she adored. As all the characters in the books have had tragedy and horrors in their past they must overcome, so does Elin. Much of the story is told through her perspective and she is spunky, witty, loyal and a very likable heroine. She realizes her feelings towards Thane are more than just attraction but is a bit intimidated by this gorgeous immortal with his larger than life, hot bad boy personality. Her often snarky, cutting quips and comments throughout the story are fun and entertaining.
Thane is the kind of alpha, hunky, bad boy, Angel gorgeous hero dreams are made of. A beautiful angel, with flowing curly golden hair, dazzling eyes, strong, commanding, controlling, bad boy wicked Thane is also loyal, and protective of those he loves and is responsible for.
He has strong bonds with his best friends, his team of dark angels, Bjorne and Xerxes. Their commitment to each other knows no bounds, they are a family. There are some funny and endearing scenes between the three. Thane also shows an empathetic side as well as the strength to allow himself to be vulnerable by loving Elin and his "boys".
Thank you Gena for creating the most awesome, hottest hero, get ready swoon. The love story is heart warming, exciting, frustrating at times with miscommunications, roller coaster emotional, which makes the ending all the more unforgettable. The story line draws you in and keeps you there enthralling in the mesmerizing world the author has created for her Dark Angels. You will never look at clouds the same again.
The secondary characters are well developed and awesome, so hope to see Xerxes and Bjorne with their own books. Loved the girls Elin works with and their Multiple Scorgasms team. Throughout the book there are plenty of really funny scenes that will have you laughing.Thank you Gena for story that is at least 10 OMG's on the hotness scale and with gifting us with one of the most awesome, hottest alpha heroes, get ready to swoon.
Amazing series. Not just a must read but a must reread, a few times.

“Just in case you missed it, the entire point of this exercise was to drive home the fact that everyone has weeds in their life. Including you. You need to yank them out – before it’s too late.”
Gena Showalter is back! I enjoyed the first two books in this series but it seemed like they were lacking a bit of the magic and steam from her Lords of the Underworld series (especially the early ones) but that definitely wasn’t the case with this book. I found it to be very reminiscent of her ear...

Gena Showalter is back! I enjoyed the first two books in this series but it seemed like they were lacking a bit of the magic and steam from her Lords of the Underworld series (especially the early ones) but that definitely wasn’t the case with this book. I found it to be very reminiscent of her earlier LOTU books and even though it’s been about a year since I last read anything from her, I found myself swept right back into this world! I loved the outrageous female characters combined with the hot alpha male characters and all of the hilarious dialogue that ensues. There were so many great one liners and banter in this book, I found myself chuckling quite a bit.
Elin was awesome, she had that signature Showalter spunk and I loved watching her come into her own as she learned to get past her fears and overcome all the tragedy in her past. It was great watching her go toe-to-toe with Thane and her internal battle with trying to resist Thane’s advances was rather amusing. I also loved her and her BFFs in the ‘Multiple Scorgasms’, they were quite the group. It was also fun to see Anya and Kaia make appearances, those girls are crazy!
Thane was the perfect alpha male (“You wanted to be lovers. We are lovers. You wanted all of me, I gave you all of me. Good and bad. You wanted space, I gave you space. Now, we do what I want.”)
and damaged hero. I loved watching him learn to love and get rid of his “weeds” with Elin’s help. Of course there were ups and downs but he was a quick learner and quickly realized when he made a mistake and it was so sweet seeing him try to make it right. One of the best things was the ‘bromance’ between him, Xerxes and Bjorn. We got glimpses of it in the other two books and we knew that they had an irrevocable bond but it came shining through in this book and scenes between these three were among some of my favorites in the book. And how about Axel? Can that guy get his own book??? He’s a handful! The chemistry between Thane and Elin was scorching hot and the sexual tension was intense, so when things finally happen it was definitely explosive! Like I said, Gena Showalter definitely got her groove back in this book! I loved all of it, the characters, the dialogue, the action and the romance. It was all there and now I am really really looking forward to getting back into the LOTU world with Torin’s book that’ll be coming out soon!

I liked this. I've really enjoyed reading about the Sent Ones. Apparently their stories are being incorporate into the LOTU series. I hope they are still full novels and not just quick novellas because I really like these characters.
I liked Elin and her posse of new friends (who all seem quite interesting). If you liked the harpies in LOTU (and how could you not?) then you should like this lot. Same entertaining chaos. I liked Thane, too.
This was an enjoyable read, and I'm looking for...

This was an enjoyable read, and I'm looking forward to stories about Xerxes, Bjorn and Axel.
