Beautiful Mistake
A new sexy standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland.
The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight―telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That's what I thought...until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I'm your new teaching assistant.
I'll be working under you...figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing―working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting...

Well let me start by saying this book was AMAZING!!! Vi Keeland knows how to give her a readers a fabulous 5 star read.

I should know by now not to underestimate a Vi Keeland book. This woman definitely knows how to put my emotions and heart through the wringer. This has to be one of my favorite books of hers so far, and I have loved every book of hers that I have read.
Her stories are fun, sexy, entertaining but also heartfelt and emotionally charged. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters she gives us. I think this is one of the only books where I haven’t hated someone the author introduced us to. All of the secondary characters were great and added to the story in some way. Her stories always suck me in and I devour them in less than a day and this book was no different. The flow and pace of the story was spot on. I loved that this story was filled with a lot of outside drama….the focus was primarily on Caine and Rachel. Their love story was intriguing enough that it kept me enthralled and turning the pages (quickly)
Beautiful Mistake is a standalone novel told from primarily Rachel’s POV but we do get some chapters from Caine’s. The way this story was told and unfolded I thought was perfect. It held a little bit of suspense, but was also kind of predictable, but it was never boring!! This story followed the journey of Rachel and Caine. I don’t want to say to much about their story because this is a book that each reader needs to unfold themselves. I loved the banter between Caine and Rachel and the sexual tension was kindle melting, but when they got together…holy explosion!!! HOT!!!!
So if you are a fan of the forbidden student/teacher romance but also want a story with heart and emotion, then give this book a try. This was a more than a love story, it was a story about forgiveness and moving on. If you are a fan of Vi Keeland’s you don’t want to miss this newest addition to her fantastic collection. If she is a new author to you….pick up this gem, you won’t be sorry!!!!

Another well written story by Vi Keeland. As per usual, the plot is thought provoking, heartwarming and also heartbreaking. This story deals with sexual abuse of a minor, overcoming adversity, and the unconventional way a teenage boy steps up to report this atrocity but grows up carrying unwarranted guilty feeling that he didn’t do enough. Readers become privy to the backstory of Rachel and her sister with snippets throughout the book. The adult relationship between doctoral student Rachel an...

Readers become privy to the backstory of Rachel and her sister with snippets throughout the book. The adult relationship between doctoral student Rachel and Professor Caine is well executed with good character development and believable sexual chemistry.
I particularly enjoyed the secondary characters, Charlie, Rachel’s protective boss, and Lydia and Umberto, Rachel’s thesis subject. There was a truly eye opening storyline involving Lydia and Umberto’s 50 year marriage and the course of events that make one question, “What would you do when the love of your life develops Alzheimer’s. I don’t want to divulge too much.
The conclusion was predictable and satisfying in its own right. If there is one criticism I have to make it’s that I would have wanted to know more about Rachel’s sister and her child. I question in my mind who the father is. We, as readers, did not get much info and I’m leaving this book with unresolved questions. Otherwise, it was as enjoyable read from cover to cover. I recommend this book.

"Find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you’ll have good luck."
I’m not even going to attempt to do justice to this cleverly laid out tour de force. And I’m not going to spoil another reader’s enjoyment by divulging too much info either. Suffice to say, I loved every minute I spent between the covers of Vi Keeland’s latest smexy contemporary romance.

HOLY WOW! Vi Keeland never ceases to amaze me with her stories. Her books make you fall in love with reading over and over again. This author has become one of my top favorites and I look forward to each new book she releases.
Simply music to my soul. Each word was a beautiful note on a musical scale written for a song of love that was meant to be. In a twist of fate, the past and present crisscross and the future may depend on a copper penny or two and a few Hail Marys.
"Beautiful Mistake" felt a bit more serious in nature than some of Keeland's other books – but I was mesmerized by its subject matter and the two main characters. With each new chord, I was totally captured and let the rhythm take full control until the last note played.
As with this author's other trademark leading men, Caine is another top-notch, heart-stealing hero. I’ve yet to meet one of her male protagonists that I haven’t fallen head-over-heels for – but Professor Caine West might be top of the list at this point. His “angelic” bad boy persona was a heavenly delight for me. He's so much more than a pretty face and ripped body. Professor West is a man with many sides.
And Rachel Martin was his match. She makes her presence known – even when she’s tardy and that’s often. She’s feisty and funny, tells it like she sees it, and throws sass like a pro (and nobody writes sassy dialogue better than VK). Rachel’s strength has gotten her to where she is today.
Together they are DY-NA-MITE! The chemistry is searing and explosive. Sex is plentiful – and both enjoy a down and dirty romp. But the bedroom scenes (or anywhere else these two choose) play second fiddle to the overall relationship that is powerful and moving, intimate and meaningful.
Interwoven throughout is a diverse range of secondary characters that bolsters the depth and strength of the story without overshadowing the main event.
Told from both viewpoints in first person, Caine and Rachel share their story reflecting glimpses of both past and present.
No worries about cliffhangers or continuing storyline, "Beautiful Mistake" is a standalone novel. Give yourself a reading treat and prepare to be wowed!

This was a fantastic read!
"I told you I didn't bite students...I don't. But I make no promises about not biting feisty TAs."
When Rachel Martin first meets Caine West, she thinks he's someone else and completely blasts him. She's pretty mortified when she realises her error and, worse, when he turns out to be her professor and she's his new TA. When Rachel Martin first meets Caine West, she thinks he's someone else and completely blasts him. She's pretty mortified when she realises her error and, worse, when he turns out to be her professor and she's his new TA. From the first moment they meet, there's no denying there's a connection between them, and the more time they spend together, the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore. However, both carry a lot of baggage from the past.
"Ever hear a song for the first time and you don't know the words, but the music is really familiar?...You're that song. I don't know any of the words, but the tune is so [...] familiar."
Gosh, I need to make a plan to get through more of this author's backlist as her writing is just wonderful. Each time I read one of her books, I find them funny, hot AF, and pretty emotional, and this story was no different. Rachel was sassy, capable and just totally herself. There was nothing about her I didn't like. She was adorable when she was nervous and I liked that she tackled difficult situations head on. Caine was an enigma to Rachel and the flashbacks to his past intrigued me. I realised pretty soon where the plot was taking us and I was really looking forward to the conclusion. I thought he was pretty thrilling with his dirty mouth and his blatant attraction to Rachel but, at the same time, my goodness, his protective heart and the fact he was in touch with his emotions? Yep! I was a goner for him. Although Caine and Rachel were professor and TA, this story wasn't really about forbidden love. To me, it was more about connection, destiny, and life coming back round full circle. Fab read!
