Ego Maniac
A new standalone novel from #1 New York Timesbestselling author, Vi Keeland.
The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.
Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn't really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.
The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he'd let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn't help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.
The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

"I don’t share things that are mine." <<---- ***melts all over the place***
Okay! Okay!!! Okayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! Consider me smitten, charmed, seduced, and utterly romanced by this story, by these characters. Hands down one of the sweetest, most enjoyable, most heartfelt and well crafted reads I've read. The novel is laid out in such a way that you are drawn in from the first chapter to the last. I swear, there's no way that you won't like this book.

NO-FREAKING-WAY!
I'M. DEAD. SERIOUS.
I CANNOT imagine a single person not falling head over heels in love with Emerie and Drew. They are down right lovable, so real and funny. And SO charming. SOOOOOO, SO, CHARMING. Really, Egomaniac hit my square in the gut with feels. And right now, I'm in that "head in the clouds, hearts in my eyes, honeymoon love" stage. I really think this novel has cemented my love of Vi Keeland as one of my FAVORITE authors. I mean.. I haven't read all of her books, but I definitely adored THE BALLER, almost had a mental meltdown over the perfection that was STUCK UP SUIT (she co-authors that with Penelope Ward) and really enjoyed BOSSMAN. And now there's this? ANOTHER WINNER. Another story that's not just sex, but actual story with pure heart and full bodied characters that are such a delight to read, they make you want to skip around in joy.
It's the freaking best.
ALSO, I need to say, I have a MAJOR freaking crush on Vi's writing. I'm so enamored with it. It's crisp and clean, not weighed down with a thousand BS details you don't give a fudge about. She doesn't over do it on character mannerisms. She lets the dialogue set the tone, and allows the reader to set the scene with their imagination. She's an author who conveys exactly what she needs to, at exactly the right time, to get the story right.
Man, I'm smitten. Smitten by all of it. The writing. The sweetness of Emerie. The Perfection of Drew. Separately these characters are fantastic. Heart stopping. But together, they're CATACLYSMIC. Their chemistry owns the pages, and their strangers, to friends, to lovers story takes your breath away. From their first meeting, you fall hard for Drew, and for Emerie. They have an instant rapport that sets you at ease, and the start of the first chapters are so captivating and wholly unique. In all the time I've been reading, I don't think I've ever read a book that starts as well as that.
I can't say enough good things. I just loved the dynamic between these characters, the way their attraction and friendship bloomed. From the moment Drew finds Emerie in his office, he as smitten with her as I am with them. It's sweet. There are so many unbelievably endearing moments, moments where I literally felt my heart staggering, where my cheeks hurt from smiling, and my chest filled with so much warmth and happiness.
So good.
Just so very good.Egomaniac is lighter on the angst, heavy on the romance and absolutely loaded with a hardy dose of pure heart you will love. I certainly think that Vi Keeland has out done herself. And I know it's early, but I'm 99% sure that this book will be in my TOP 10 at the end of 2017. I'm so in love. And I plan to scream this to anyone who will listen.
A. MUST. READ.

Vi Keeland delivers once again her signature light, flirty, hot, swoon worthy read with Ego Maniac. This is one of those stories that captures your attention from the very start and holds you hostage throughout. The slow burn, the flirting, the side looks, the innuendo all bring these characters to life in vivid technicolour as you cannot help but picture these two, side by side, office by office, winding each other up on a daily basis.
“Thanks to her dirty thoughts, Little Miss Oklahoma with the great a** got a reprieve after all.”
These two are total opposites in every single way, but as the saying goes, opposites attract. Even their professions are total opposites, Drew Jagger is a divorce attorney and Emerie is a marriage counsellor. One aims to save marriages the other, to snuff them out forever. But it is these professions that bring unfettered banter, wit and hilarious scenes as Vi Keeland brings a light, heart-felt romance to life.
“Damn straight. I’m like a superhero. The Prolactinator.”
Drew Jagger is a man scorned and his feelings towards females in general is not all that great, unless they are the end of his c**k screaming his name in a no-strings attached encounter. His clients are all male as females only bring problems and as with any lawyer he exudes confidence, can talk his way in and out of any conversation and always gets what he wants. He works hard, is extremely professional but under his sarcastic, crude, in your face persona is a guy that was actually a closet romantic, loyal to a fault, a filthy talker in the sack and a guy that had a propensity to love like no other.
“You’re an a**, you know that?”
“Then I must be a great a**. Because it takes one to know one.”Emerie was a woman who walks the earth with her head in the clouds, where blue birds twitter around her head and everything is rainbows and unicorns. Emerie is an innocent, extremely naïve, very prudish and blushes at the drop of a hat, a blush that Drew makes his mission to see hourly. Emerie though is extremely professional, a hopeless romantic and the victim of unrequited love, firmly friend zoned by the man that she has lusted after for years.
“Maybe, just maybe, neither one of us had found the right one before now…because we hadn’t met each other yet.”
How these two come to meet is explained in the synopsis, but it is this that starts one hilarious love/hate friendship that slowly morphs to more. The sexual chemistry between these two was apparent from the start but with one being anti-relationship and another seeing stars for another it was an attraction that just sizzled and burned. The more that these two got to know one another, the more intense the flame. These two bantered, they called each other out and actually brought out the best in one and other, Drew bringing Emerie to her senses over Mr Bowtie and Emerie showing Drew that not all females are the same.
“I can see that neither of you have figured it out yet. Talk to me in a month or two.”
This was a really cute read, low on angst and huge on the emotional feels and gave you that hot and mushy feeling at the end. The progression of their relationship always felt honest and real and you couldn’t help but champion these two along from the very start. Both were endearing in their own way, together they were dynamite and I couldn’t put this one down, another addictive read from Vi Keeland.
“I’d go three hundred and sixty-four days thirsty if it meant I got to drink you in for just one.”

This was my first book by Vi and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it!! I loved both Drew and Emerie who were such likeable characters. Their sexy, honest and fun banter together was like watching an amazing tennis match which I did not want to see end.
This book had it all for me; a fantastic and unique story line, memorable and funny dialogue, a strong hero and heroine, sensual and scorching hot love scenes, some very poignant moments and a satisfying HEA. It had me laughing out loud, gasping, swooning, and my heart twisted inside especially at the sad parts with Drew and his son. Vi is one of my new favourite authors and I am very excited to read more of her bestselling and memorable books! I highly recommend this book!
