Dirty Rich One Night Stand
This is an alternate cover edition - ASIN: B076JCNS7H DIRTY, RICH ONE NIGHT STAND. That's all it was supposed to be. Her. Him. Pleasure. And then a fast goodbye. He's a stranger. And yet, he's not. She knows him even though he doesn’t know her. He's the powerful attorney, now world-renowned after coming off the trial of a century which was publicized across the country. And I'm one of the reporters that sat in his courtroom. I watched him, studied him, got to know him from afar which isn't hard since I know his exact brand of confidence, arrogance, and wealth. I know his type. I've dated his type. Which is why when I happen to come face to face with him, when sparks fly and heat simmers between us, I know what happens if I say "yes" to Reese Summer. I know he'll taste like sin and sex, even before he kisses me. I know he'll feel like pleasure and passion, even before he touches me. I know he'll demand more than I want to give, and yet, because I dare to give myself to him, the result will be deliciously hot. I know that I will not leave his bed without being utterly, completely sated. And I know that I will leave the next morning anyway. And so, I do. And so, he follows. And as chase begins my question becomes: Is Reese Summer THE one or is he really just a dirty, arrogant lie that should have stayed a one night stand?

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I haven't read Lisa Renee Jones until this year. It's not that I didn't want to, it was simply a matter of time. However, months later, I'm a rabid fan, one-clicking whatever she publishes without a cover or even a blurb. Her writing still resonates so strongly with me that I anticipate her upcoming releases with an unnatural adrenaline rush. So it should come as no surprise that I am utterly in love with her latest book, Dirty Rich One Night Stand.

This story has everything I love about Lisa's novels; it's intelligent, complex without being overdone, surprising, romantic and hot as hell. A slightly damaged alpha male meets a slightly damaged alpha female, they clash, and then they immediately ignite and engage your imagination with off-the-charts chemistry and stunningly well-written prose.
Reese Summer is a bright, driven criminal attorney with an impressive record and a bit of entitled arrogance to match. He was once forced to choose between love and career, and now has no time or interest in pursuing long-term relationships. But underneath his arrogant exterior is a man who doesn't know what he's missing until he meets his match in Cat Maxwell.
Cat is an equally adept attorney who's left her law practice behind to cover criminal trials from the sidelines - as a journalist and author. She's fiercely independent, having been betrayed by a former lover and dismissed by her misogynistic father and brothers. She has no patience for arrogant men, and her first impression of Reese is that he's just like all the other men who have disappointed her.
But as luck would have it, their attraction heats up quickly, nearly to the point of spontaneous combustion. And what should have been a one-night stand of steamy hate sex quickly and unimaginably becomes so much more. For both of them.
I kid you not, the raw, intimate scenes between these two powerful characters are enough to set your hair on fire; it's pure panty-melting goodness. But the emotional intimacy is so stunning, the internal conflicts so heart-wrenching, that the one-night stand plan falls apart from the get-go. It's intensely satisfying to a reader who's a sentimental romantic at heart.
Along the way, there's a murder mystery to solve, more than one ethical dilemma, a few misunderstandings, doubt, fear, and angst. It's so well-written I read it in one sitting and will read it again when I need a smart, sexy, heartwarming second look at two characters I quickly came to love. My only regret is that I haven't read the Walker Security Series yet, and I think that may have enhanced the reading experience even more. But this is such a well-written standalone that I'm ready to head to Lisa's backlist and treat myself to the stories I've missed.
I highly recommend Lisa's Dirty Money series, the White Lies Duet, and this outstanding new release. I rarely fan-girl anymore, but when it comes to Lisa, I'm not ashamed to admit I'm in it for the long haul.

This book is different from the other books by Lisa Renee Jones I have read so far, in the sense that it focuses more on the romance between the characters, with some suspense elements as a secondary subplot. This book is different from the other books by Lisa Renee Jones I have read so far, in the sense that it focuses more on the romance between the characters, with some suspense elements as a secondary subplot. It tells the story of Reese Summers, a top defense attorney, and Cat Maxwell, a columnist and bestselling true crime novelist. These characters are extremely likeable and their chemistry was intense, explosive even. The romantic aspect of the story was well-thought-out. The witty dialogues manage to catch the essence of this couple. They are very much alike, passionate about their jobs, but also loyal, thoughtful and stubborn.
I loved Cat’s down-to-earth personality. Despite her privileged background, she isn’t a haughty heiress or a socialite. She has a great work ethic and strong principles. When she meets Reese, she sees him as an arrogant womanizer. He is trouble and she wants nothing to do with him. And yet, she needs to interview him, he is the lead counsel for the defense in a sensational murder case.
Reese is a natural-born seducer, confident and charismatic. He is a top-flight criminal defense attorney with a perfect track record, but he must be convinced that a potential client is innocent to take on his case. And there is much more to him than the arrogant, successful lawyer he seems to be.Cat and Reese were perfect together. This couple was amazing and likeable right away, they radiate positive energy. They are honest and straightforward with their feelings and attraction towards each other. There was no hiding, or fighting against it, even though it is new territory for both of them. They are both playing for keeps, but they need time to build a relationship based on trust.
The characters are so multi-layered and so easy to love that you won’t care that there is no mystery, secrets or major life shattering dramas. “Dirty Rich One Night stand” is a sweet, fast-paced, very sexy and well written romance book with a vivacious heroine, a dreamy hero, and a great cast of secondary characters. It is a standalone told in dual POV, but I hope there will be more books about the Maxwell family.

Great read and hard to put down. The plot thickens and right many suspects to keep tabs on. Cat and Reese make a great pair for each other. Definitely worth the read! Challenge accepted.

I don't know why I did not write a review on this book back in 2018 when I read this book. The only excuse I have is, is that I just retired in 2017 or around there and I had just started reading books on my kindle and I had found these dirty rich series books that I started reading and I have no idea if I wrote reviews, but I decided to back and write reviews when I can, in between reading other books. I remember the distinguished lawyer Reese and the reporter Cat who belonged to a rich family too. This story was really great and kept me reading Lisa Renee books at that time. This is great reading book, and I would highly recommend it.

It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of Lisa Renee Jones. And this is the book that started that love affair. I read it years ago, and have never been disappointed in any of her books that I've read since then.
Cat and Reese are the ultimate couple. The sparks fly when they are together. Cat comes from a dysfunctional family, doesn't trust very easily because of that. Especially attorneys. But Reese doesn't back away, he takes her wall down brick by brick. He proves to her what love and loya...

But Reese doesn't back away, he takes her wall down brick by brick. He proves to her what love and loyalty look like. And you have a mystery/courtroom drama also!
The writing is superb, the plot very engaging, the dialogue between the characters is exceptional.
I HIGHLY recommend this book, and the rest of the books in this series. Hell, I recommend any book that Ms. Jones has written!
