I really enjoyed the second instalment of the Wilder men series by Jill Shalvis. This is the story about Stone who we met in the first book. I really enjoyed the second instalment of the Wilder men series by Jill Shalvis. This is the story about Stone who we met in the first book. In the first book, we learned that Stone has a crush on the local Doctor and that he keeps asking her out and she keeps telling him no. Stone is the middle child, the one who breaks up fights, the one who keeps everything running and keeps their family together. He was hard working, caring and simply adorable. After seeing how Cam found love, he was hoping to find something like that for himself, with the town doctor.

Stone and his brothers owned Wilder Adventures where they take their guests for anything they want from hiking, biking, rock climbing, kayaking and skiing. But, he hates needles so when he gets hurt and taken to the local clinic, he is double embarrassed. Not only because he has to get stitches, but also because he had to strip naked in front of the doctor he had a crush on. Emma was in town temporarily to run her father's clinic while he was recovering from a heart attack. Emma is a complicated character because she loves her job, but she doesn't allow people to get close, this was due to her relationship with her mom and lack of relationship with her dad. Stone wanted to pursue something with Emma, but Emma knew it would be dangerous and at the end, she would leave with a broken heart.

It was nice to see how despite not wanting to be together, Stone was able to slowly woo her. Jill Shalvis writes wonderful books. I loved the banter between the characters and the romance was so sensual. Great book and can't wait to read about TJ's story.

She's complete business and so focused on her career choice that she overlooks kindness. She's stubborn, cool elegance in a mountain town...with her classy clothes, glorious fiery auburn hair and baby blue eyes. She's all bark and no bite. She has no time for a man...not in New York and certainly not here in Wishful, Ca. She has no time for romantic diversions. She's only staying long enough to get her Dad back on track, and then she's outta' here......back to the world where she belongs.

He's tall, muscular and full of effortless charm and charisma. He's a little wild and a little modest...sheer testosterone fueled masculinity with his tanned, rock hard build and laughing, easy going, fathomless deep green eyes. And holy cherry suckers Batman....but this man is one hawt piece of yummy cheeze! Stone Wilder is partners with his two brothers, running the "outdoor adventure/expedition" company (Wilder Adventures). He's stop-in-your tracks sexy and gorgeously dangerous to female hearts with his wind tousled, sun kissed light brown hair. Stone is basically a care giver...keeping his family together or taking care of and rescuing foster kids from their troubled lives. He's the whole package and he's completely dumbfounded and lost when he meets Emma..... Let the games begin.

This is such a great story of one damaged woman going through her rigid life being the efficient but disconnected Dr. that she is, without giving of herself - - it never occurs to her that she'd possibly need anyone. She's lonely and alone and is unable to connect to people, until one charming man becomes her saving grace. This is a wonderfully brilliant (and predictable) romantic story of learning to open yourself up to be brave enough to take risks and chances on love. To overcome your fears and allow yourself to be vulnerable enough to let the walls fall...to trust and reach out to that "someone" who could be so perfect for you. A fabulous story of life's lessons of allowing yourself to stop and smell the roses. To live in the moment, grasp that happiness that has fallen in your lap and appreciate and revel in it. And Ms. Shalvis tells it so well.

I bought this book before realizing that this was the second book in the Wilder brothers series, but I have to say.... I have no complaints. I did not feel lost not reading the first book, so it I can tell you that if you do the same thing like I did..... do not worry. These books are capable of standing on their own.

In this book, we get to know Dr. Emma Sinclair and Stone Wilder.... what an explosive connection with these two. The banter with all the characters was uplifting and I found myself laughing a fair deal, but when it came to the tension and sizzle these two (Emma and Stone) went through.... I saw it as completely believable.

Well written story about two people that feel trapped with secrets, lies, denial and undeniable attraction as well as facing change when what you become accustomed to is not enough. I do look forward to the other books in the series if they flow as well as this one. I enjoyed it so much.... I managed to read the whole book in one day. Every time I tried to put the book down, I picked it right back up. THAT is saying something for a book. In fact, I have read quite a few of Ms. Shalvis' books with the same fervor as this one. Definitely not a disappointed reader here... I really liked it!

The intimate scenes are not graphic and hardcore. There is a more sensual feel to the characters and how they interact. This is not a sec romance, it's a love story.

The other main character, Stone, is an easy-going outdoors man yearning for more in his life.

He's definitely her rock and the story line is very intriguing. I would definitely encourage you to check this one out.
